Leadership

Here at The Roseland Multi-Academy Trust you will have opportunities to develop leadership skills through different routes. There will be opportunities to access the National Professional Qualifications (NPQs), click here.  You will also be able to access our own Lead The Roseland Way professional development offer which include two separate programmes: Middle Leadership Programme & Growing Senior Leaders Programme.

Middle Leadership Programme:

  • delivery from different senior leaders from across our trust schools
  • suitable for colleagues across all phases with content adjusted according to phase
  • practical and regularly updated content to allow it to remain current and relevant
  • a focus on the key aspects associated with the day-to-day leading of a department in the whole school context,
  • includes theories as well as practical tasks and clear examples to support the colleagues in their current and future roles.

We have run four successful cohorts of this programme, including during the school closures.  We have a very established approach which makes this a very enjoyable and rewarding experience for both the attendees and the presenters.

Growing Senior Leaders Programme:

  • delivered directly by the members of the Executive Leadership Team, Headteachers, the Teaching School Hub Director and Deputy Headteachers
  • suitable for colleagues across all phases with content adjusted according to phase
  • practical and regularly updated content to allow it to remain current and relevant to the attendees and their current experience and professional background,
  • a focus on the leadership aspects, journeys of the schools over time and how leaders influence that journey, as well as practical aspects associated with the day-to-day leading of a school as part of a Senior Leadership Team
  • includes theories as well as practical tasks, clear examples and reflective tasks to support the colleagues in their new or aspiring roles

This course has been delivered to two successful cohorts, including during the school closures. We have a well established approach making this a very enjoyable and rewarding experience for everyone where we challenge each other and acquire new skills and knowledge to take away with us beyond the course.

Many colleagues, having completed either of the courses, have increased their impact of their roles, expanded their responsibilities at the whole school level, progressed to substantial posts within the trust, or secured promotion beyond our trust.  Lead The Roseland Way professional development has contributed to higher enjoyment of their roles, clarified their own career prospects and increased their impact and effectiveness.
